  • I was very excited to move to Sydney. I had big dreams of finding myself a job. Only after settling did I know that it is very difficult to find a job, in Australia one can get nowhere without local experience. The Workplace Communication for Professionals course helped me understand the Australian culture, write a resume, cover letters, how to attend an interview. It also offered students 3 weeks work placement in their fields, this helped me build contacts and gain local experience. After completing the course the Exit Advisor put me in touch with a Recruitment Consultant who helped me in achieving my dream job as an administration assistant in a national law firm.

    • Forklift and Warehouse
  • Navitas gave me the opportunity to undertake the Forklift and Warehouse course. After doing work placement I was offered a job where I am currently working. The teachers at Navitas have been very helpful and supportive every step of the way and I am very grateful for that and could not have done it without them. I believe with determination and hard work you will be able to achieve any goal you have your heart set on.  The future for me looks bright  from here on.

    • Hospitality
  • After three months at Navitas English Auburn I enrolled in the SLPET hospitality course. During the course I learnt lots of new skills and knowledge such as food and beverage, how to apply for a job, the rights and responsibilities of employment, writing resumes, cover letters and practising job interviews. I found all this information to be very helpful to my future. As part of the course the teachers helped me arrange and do work experience within a local club and close to where I live. This was a very good experience and no words can express my happiness when the club offered me a job after finishing my work experience. I am appreciative for all the teacher’s efforts in the course and class. Now I am working 20 hours per week and looking to continue with further study. I will take this opportunity both in the workplace and study to improve my English and skills to advance my career goals and aspirations.

    • Workplace Communication for Professionals
  • I moved to Australia in February 2016 and commenced studying at Navitas English two months after arriving. My biggest challenge at Navitas was doing presentations and interviews, however my teachers helped me to overcome this. Since graduating from Navitas I have had three jobs. The first two jobs were casual, but the latest one is fulltime. My goal for the future is to become a permanent worker in my current job.

  • I took this course expecting it to help me develop communications skills, gain business vocabulary and get some local work experience. This course did not just give me the necessary skills to get a job but also the confidence to start applying for jobs. During the course I improved my resume, cover letter and at the end had the opportunity to complete work experience in my chosen field. Work experience was a great opportunity to learn about the Australian workplace, get some local experience and obtain a referee. Two weeks before I finished the course I started applying for jobs and by the end of my work experience I got two job offers. I cannot be more grateful and thankful with Navitas. I never expected to get a permanent job after four months of moving to Australia.

    • Childcare
  • When I was applying for jobs at child care centres, the response from the employer was not very positive as I did not have the necessary qualification as well as good communication skills. When I was looking desperately to improve my job prospects in this land of opportunities, I was introduced to Navitas and the childcare course with work placement training. I was very happy about the practical way of teaching and supporting and very friendly faculty. I learnt a lot about children’s development, behaviour and also methods to handle children of different moods and needs. Apart from this I also learnt the art of communicating with children, parents, colleagues. Over all it has been a good learning experience. With this confidence I attended a job interview and got offered a traineeship in a childcare centre.

  • Starting a new life from scratch was quite challenging. I started my Navitas journey as soon as I arrived in Australia to help me settle and learn more about the country. The variety of topics covered during the course enabled me to understand Australian work culture. It also enabled me to realize my existing skills and identify my strengths and weaknesses. The work experience I got was the highlight of my Navitas journey and the stepping stone of success for me in Australia.

    • Receptionist Course
  • I started to learn English and later had the opportunity to complete a ten week Receptionist course which included 2 weeks work experience in an office environment. In the Receptionist course, I learned more about the Australian work place. This course is like a key which allows me to open doors. The greatest thing about this course is that we had two weeks of work experience to improve our skills.

I was so lucky to have such a great teacher, advisor and the work experience placement officer who helped me throughout the course and helped me to achieve my goal.

  • I believe most new migrants have a hard time at the beginning in a new country. Navitas English is an amazing place which built up my confidence and social network. I have learned a lot about Australian cultures, lifestyle, social activities as well as job hunting skills. I found it was very difficult to find a job in Australia, as the companies value employees with local experience. Navitas found me a financial company for the 2 weeks' work experience and on my last day of work experience I was offered a permanent job.

  • I chose to do Aged Care because I’d like to change my career, do something I never ever experienced before. I want to use my experience from my life. At first I had very high expectations. I thought this course should provide a job for me, but when I studied, I thought this course is too hard for me. It’s too hard to find a job. I think ‘I waste my time’. I think it’s not a success for me. That’s before. After I went to work experience placement I wanted to keep going in this career. It’s different when you start working. I was lucky in work experience as I did high care, low care and hostel services. So I had a good experience in the different areas.
