Develop skills for work and further training with the SEE program

What is the SEE program?

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program, funded by the Australian Government, gives you the skills and support you need to prepare for work or further study. 

The free program provides job-related training in language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills. Some eligibility criteria apply.

You can now enrol directly with Navitas Skilled Futures, or enrol via a referral from your Workforce Australia consultant.

Participants of the SEE program are more confident entering the workplace or further study.  

The program will help you: 

  • Identify jobs that match your skills
  • Prepare for interview success
  • Improve workplace communication
  • Use digital technology
  • Manage money and finances

New 5-step SEE pathway!

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is now being split into five new pathways!

After completing a pre-training assessment, you will be placed in the right stream for your current skillset. From there, learners can move up through each stream until they are ready for employment or further education.

All Streams are available at our SEE Colleges in South Western and Greater Western Sydney.


Eligibility

To be eligible to enrol in the SEE program directly with Navitas Skilled Futures, you must be: 

  • Aged between 15 years and the Age Pension age 
  • Deemed suitable for training without any barriers that would prevent successful participation
  • Either an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or have working rights in Australia

To ensure you meet these criteria, please review the Australian Government’s SEE Direct Registration Form.

If you wish to enrol via a referrer from your referring provider, such as your Workforce Australia consultant, you’ll also need to be registered as a job seeker. Your consultant can assist you with understanding if you qualify.

How to enrol

There are 2 ways to enrol in the SEE program:

  1. You can now enrol directly in SEE at Navitas Skilled Futures without a referral or
  2. If you are a part of Workforce Australia, you may ask your Employment Services provider or consultant for a referral. Your consultant may also refer you on their recommendation alone.

Our assessors will discuss your goals and check your reading, writing and spoken communication skills to ensure you’re enrolled in the right Stream for your needs.

To enrol for Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program, you will need to confirm that you meet the Australian Government’s eligibility criteria.


Nationally Accredited Certifications

The SEE program is structured around your unique needs, with targeted training providing the right skills for your future. This includes the following nationally accredited qualifications: 

FSK10119 Certificate I in Access to Vocational Pathways

Foundation LLND (Streams 1&2) for individuals who require significant foundation skills support to access a vocational learning pathway.

General education outcomes include:

  • a pathway to employment and further vocational training
  • reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills primarily aligned to Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 1
  • entry level digital technology and employability skills.

FSK10219 Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways

Get Set for Work (Stream 3) for individuals who need skills to prepare for a vocational pathway qualification or further foundation skills development.

General education outcomes include:

  • a pathway to employment and further vocational training
  • reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills primarily aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 2
  • entry level digital technology and employability skills
  • education, training and employment goals.

FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways

Get Ready to Study (Stream 4) & Job Ready (Stream 5) for individuals who require further foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways.

General education outcomes include:

  • a pathway to employment or further vocational training
  • reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills primarily aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3
  • entry level digital literacy and employability skills
  • a vocational training and employment plan.

The assessor will discuss your employment and learning goals, as well as assess your reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication.

You will be enrolled in the appropriate class
