If you are aged between 15 and 24, or you’ve been unemployed for a long time, we can support you to make changes and get a job that is right for you. Smart, Skilled and Hired Youth Employment is a free* service that helps you overcome problems and find jobs. One of our friendly team members will help you with your career goals.

  

What happens during the program?

Our Smart, Skilled and Hired Youth Employment program team want to help people find success and independence. We do this by working with our community networks of employers, trainers, health providers and support services across Western Sydney.

Our employment service will: 

  • assess your skills and interests
  • set your job goals
  • overcome employment problems
  • connect you with other community services
  • identify training gaps
  • find local work experience
  • provide job-readiness training
  • link you to local job opportunities
  • support you after you get a job

 

Are you eligible?

To take part in our free Smart, Skilled and Hired Youth Employment program, you should be:

  • aged between 15 and 24 when you register
  • 17 years old, or have completed Year 10, whichever comes first
  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or humanitarian visa holder (including people in refugee and humanitarian visa categories)
  • not registered with a Commonwealth employment service program.
