AMEP How Can I Study English?

Study English in class

You can study English with us during the day, in the evenings, part-time or full-time at one of our many colleges located throughout Sydney and the ACT. AMEP (Adult Migrant English Program) classes are available Monday to Saturday each week and are designed to help improve your spoken and written English and your language and communication skills.

Study English by Distance Learning

If you want to Study English with us but cannot attend classes, you can choose to study English at home through our Distance Learning program. Teacher Assisted Distance Learning is a personalised program made up of online study via Skype or telephone, as well as reading, writing and speaking exercises with online materials or printed materials and CDs.

English with a Home Tutor

The Home Tutor Scheme will suit you if you want to learn English face-to face, but are not always able to attend one of our colleges for classes. A trained tutor will come to your home for one or two hours per week to help you learn English. The tutor can also teach you English in a community place such as a local library. The tutor will help you build confidence in speaking English and improve the skills you need to settle in Australia. Click here for more information on the Home Tutor Scheme provided by Navitas English AMEP Consortium partner,  Mission Australia in Sydney and by Navitas English in the ACT.

Studying English with us is flexible, and you can combine studying face-to-face in a classroom with studying at home. If you want to practice more English, you can access supplementary Self Paced Units (online) as well.

Childcare

If you are an eligible AMEP client with children under school age, you can access free* childcare while you are in class. This is provided by KU Children’s Services, a Navitas English AMEP Consortium partner. This service will help you to study knowing that your children are safe and well looked after.

Please note that childcare is only available while you are attending class. Childcare may not always be available immediately, as places are limited and in high demand. Click here to find out more.

Study with us

Whichever way you choose to study, you will need to contact us and register at your nearest Navitas English or Consortium College.
