Adult Migrant English Program - AMEP
What is the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)?
The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is a settlement English program. The AMEP provides eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants with up to 510 hours of free* English language learning and is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.
The AMEP aims to improve your language skills, so you are able to study and to manage social and work situations in English.
Why study in the AMEP?
The AMEP will help you learn basic language skills, enabling you to participate confidently in Australian society. You will learn listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English. You will also learn about Australian culture and customs.
Your classes will cover practical topics such as money, housing, work and transport, as well as English to help you access key settlement information and services. Further topics include English for use with computers and other technology, English for getting a job and use in the workplace, and English for further study. You can also learn about pathways to further study and work.
